Answers For The Workplace E-Memo

Techno Gadgets Made Simple

If you’ve had a hard time keeping up on techno gadgets in the past five years and their application in the workplace, a new book may the ticket to get you caught up with ease.

Learning Unplugged, by Diane Gayeski, is an engaging, easy-to-use guide to today’s technical gizmos we see being used so often. If projections are accurate that 90% of our country’s workforce will be using some form of wireless communication device by 2005, then knowing gizmo jargon will pretty much be essential.

Gayeski’s book is geared for those who aren’t steeped in technology. Her explanations are down-to-earth, well organized, insightful, and humorous. She even includes photographs of the different gadgets so we know what she’s talking about – and so it will be easy to recognize these things when we see someone else using them. The book is jargon-free, so anyone can learn without any prerequisite knowledge.

If you’re still listing dial-up modems and fax machines among your most technical office devices, Learning Unplugged might be a good book to help you skip years of trial and error.
